In the name of God Amen I J. Christian Sheid of Sumneytown in the county of Montgomery and the state of Pennsylvania, , sadler, being very weak in body but of sound mind, memory and understanding Blessed by God for the same but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life Do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit Principally and first of all I commend my immortal soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the consideration of my Executors herein after named and as to such worldly Estate wherewith it had pleased God to bless me in this life I give and dispose of the same in the following manner to wit, it is my will and I do hereby order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be duly paid after my decease as soon as conveniently can be done by Executors herein after named and that they are hereby empowered to collect my outstanding debts as also my legacy which was bequeathed to me by the last will and testament of my father Christian Sheid deceased and still in the hands of his executors unsettled Item I give and bequeath unto Catharine Frasher my housekeeper the sum of five hundred dollars lawful money of the United States three beds and necessary bedding the ten plated stove and pipe three chairs and tub one bucket and all the kitchen furniture all in lieu of her wages for keeping house for me upwards of seventeen years Item I give and bequeath unto Catharine Fresher daughter of Peter Fresher the sum of two hundred dollars like money Item I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Sheid the sum of sixteen dollars lawful money aforesaid Item I give and bequeath unto my wife Susanna the sum of one dollar in lieu of her Dower at common law as she has departed and left my bed and board Item it is my will and I do order and direct that the residue of my estate that may be left after my just debts and the herein before specified bequeathed are duly paid and satisfied shall be equally divided among all my brothers and sisters their several and respective heirs and also to hold the same them their several and respective heirs and assigns for ever. And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my beloved friend Daniel Jacoby and Jacob Weidemoyer both of Sumneytown to be the Executors of this my last will hereby revoking all other wills legacies and bequests by me heretofore made and declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three. Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said testator as his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request have subscribed as witnesses-
