Isaac Hill was born in Sweetwater, Tennessee in 1805 son of Joab and Elizabeth Lane Hill. He married Elizabeth Fine in Sweetwater on 26 Sept 1826. He and his family traveled to Ashland, Oregon over the Oregon Trail by wagon train. They were some of the earliest white settlers in the area. Isaac set aside the property upon which this cemetery sits from part of his farm.
