James Baird was born in Almay, Wyoming, a son of Robert & Margaret Eggleton Baird. He married Alice Hinkins, who followed him in death less than five months later. He was a coal miner, working for Standard Fuel Co. in Standardville, Utah. He died of acute appendicitis & stomach cancer, at age 39 years, 11 months & 1 day.

OFFICERS OF ELKS LODGE CONDUCT FUNERAL RITES FOR STANDARDVILLE MAN

Impressive funeral sercies for James Baird, 39, of Standardville, who died, last Tuesday following an operation, were conducted here Sunday afternoon by officers of the Elks lodge of Provo, of which the deceased was a member.

The services were held in the chapel of the Flynn undertaking parlors, commencing at 2 o'clock. The lodge officials who participated were LeRoy Hardy, exalted ruler; Rhil Hurlbert; Howard Graham lecturing kinight; Paul Davis, loyal knight, Homer Vincent, secretary, Dr. Cannon, cahplan; James Rooney, esquire, George Vincent, Tyler and Fred Wilson, trustee, Paul bearers were members of the Provo Elks lodge No 849, who reside in Carbon county. Speakers were Mr. Rooney and John Potter. Burial was in Price City cemetery. Several other members of the Provo lodge were here for the services, which were largely attended.
