NEWTON - Services for William Troy Brand Sr. will be held today at 2 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Dr. David Sellers and Paul Oglesbee officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Cemetery.
Mr. Brand, 95, of Hickory, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at Laird Hospital in Union. He was a member of Hickory Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Gibson Brand of Hickory; two daughters, Mary Brand and her her husband, the Rev. Paul Oglesbee, of Newton and Mollie Brand and her husband, Billy Gene Brooks of Hickory; a son, Troy Brand and his wife, Billie, of Hickory; a sister, Maurine Harris of St. Louis; a brother, Johnny Brand of Hickory; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Della McGee Brand.
Pallbearers will be Bill Brand, Paul Oglesbee III, Barry Brand, Kent Oglesbee, Bill Johnson and Ken Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Clark and Pat Ross.
