Ephraim Donald Jessop was born at Millville, the son of Ephraim Jessop and Sylvia Chance Yeates. He attended Millville school, and after graduation from South Cache High School he continued to develop his musical talent at Utah State Agricultural College, Juilliard in New York, and the Chicago Conservatory of Music. He taught music in public schools in Cache County and in Nevada. He became head of the Music Departments at Beloit, Wisconsin, and at Salem, Oregon. He was Professor of Music at Louisiana State University and at Portland, Oregon. His Church activity included many positions of trust.
On December 22, 1940, he married Irene Scislowski. Irene was born February 28, 1915, at Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Stanley P. Scislowski and Josephine C. Scislowski. Irene and Ephraim were divorced and Irene married Alva A. Keen on August 16, 1971 in California.
The children of Donald and Irene are: Sylvia Marilyn, Valerie Irene and Don Galen.
On December 27, 1962, he married Eleanor May Larson, the daughter of Niels Christian Larson and Elena Bergetta Marie Nielson. She was born May 22, 1905, at Manti, Utah.
