The Balun family immigrated in 1866 to Canada then made their way to PA then on to KS. It took 6 weeks to sail from Europe.
To this marriage 13 children were born. OBITUARY: Mrs. Jos. Balaun who suffered a stroke of paralysis Friday morning passed away about noon Sunday.
She leaves an aged husband, four sons, four daughters and a number of grandchildren to mourn her lose. Two sons who live in Ohio, and a son and daughter in Oklahoma could not be with her.
All that loving hearts and willing hands could do was done for her comfort. The funeral was from the Catholic church, conducted by Father Regan, and interment was made in the Bohemian Cemetery.
A Kind neighbor, loving wife and mother has gone. We sympathize with the sorrowing ones, and trust the parting is only for a time.
