Hannah Anderson was born April 10, 1843, to Hans and Karna Nilson Anderson. After they were converted to the LDS Church in 1869, they came to Millville.

Hannah and Ola Larson were married. Ola was born October 9, 1839 in Gardstange, Malmo, Sweden, the son of Lars and Kristi Olsson Monson. At an early age, he was sent away to work as a stable boy; and he grew to love horses. Ola was a farmer, and also freighted salt from Salt Lake to Cache Valley. He is remembered for his fine horses and his black buggy, which was cleaned and polished after each use.

Ola took a plural wife in 1915, and because of persecution during that time, Hannah Anderson lived in what is now College Ward. She was unable to have children of her own, so for six years she raised Alma, the oldest son of Ola and Hanna Nielson Larson.
