"Obituary.

Isabella Williams Beckley was born at St. Clairsville, Ohio, Oct. 24, 1844. [She] Moved to Iowa in 1856, where she taught school at the age of 16 years. [She] Came to Saguache, Colorado, 1891, [and] joined the public school faculty of which she was considered very efficient and remained in school work until her marriage to Mr. G. W. Beckley, who at the time, [was] owner of the Woodard Bros. ranch, where they made their home until some years after, disposing of his holdings, he entered the general merchandise business in Saguache.

Mr. Beckley continued in business until some two years ago when life's work was done.

Mrs. Beckley took up the work left by her husband and faithfully attended to the wants of her patrons. Friday noon she was taken with pneumonia which has been so prevalent the past few months. Her sickness was of but brief duration; she died Monday, March 11th.

Seldom has it been our duty to record so sudden a death. A dark gloom spread over the whole community when it was whispered from one to another on Monday morning that Mrs. Beckley was dead.

She leaves to mourn in this city, three nephews, Eugene, Hugh and Wilson Williams, and a sister Mrs. R. Hillhouse of Oklahoma, who came to attend the funeral.

The funeral was held from the Methodist Church Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Henderson, officiating. Burial [was] in Hillside cemetery."
