WILLIAMSPORT - Susan M. Obitts, 67, of 15621 Clear Spring Road, died Friday, July 1, 2005, at Washington County Hospital. Born June 12, 1938, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Samuel and Grace Louise Mowen Nichols. She was a homemaker. She was of the Brethren faith. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald L. Obitts Sr.; seven daughters, Donna Bair of Big Pool, Sharon Obitts and Brenda Obitts, both of Hagerstown, Joyce Chaney of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Jeannie McKimmey, Jodi Cronise and Jacque Peterson, all of Williamsport; two sons, Donald Obitts Jr. of Halfway, and Anthony Obitts of Williamsport; two sisters, Linda Newlin and Loretta Rhyne, both of Hagerstown; two brothers, John Nichols of Hagerstown, and Harold Nichols of Mercersburg, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Angle and Doris Weller, and three brothers, Dick Nichols, Roy Nichols and Sonny Nichols. Graveside services will be private and at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport. Maj. Butch Mallard will officiate. There will be no viewing. The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Easter Seals Society, 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, MD 21740 or Salvation Army, 534 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown, MD 21740. Arrangements are by Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport.
