Bessie and Warren raised Boston Terrier dogs for much of their life together.
They took a car trip from Houston to New York City in 1922 that took over a month. They camped along the way in many states. They saw many shows in NYC.
She remarried on October 18, 1938 in Houston to William Louis Young. They were divorced shortly thereafter.
In 1941, Bessie cut off her beautiful red hair and gave it to the Washington Institute of Technology. They were going to use it for their weather instruments. This was a WW II effort.
Bessie loved writing to show business people. She had met many through Warren's job as manager of the Palace theater in Houston. One of the people she wrote was Lucille Ball. Lucy wrote Bessie back several times and sent several Christmas cards along with pictures of her children.
