US Congressman. After studying medicine, he graduated from the University of Louisville in 1873. He was a delegate to the Kentucky constitutional convention in 1890 and was appointed United States marshal for the district of Kentucky in 1897, a position he held until 1905. Elected as a Republican from Kentucky to Congress in 1906, he served a single term from 1907 to 1909. Defeated for reelection in 1908, he resumed his medical practice in Penrod, Kentucky.
