Blanche Horner, 97, died November 7, 1997 at the Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo. Born March 7, 1900, she was the daughter of the late David McClellan Abbott and Ida Merrill Abbott.
She attended the Cottonwood Point School. On March 14, 1919 in Caruthersville, Mo. she was united in marriage to Mr. James Horner. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1973. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cottonwood Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Norman Horner Creech of Wardell, Mo.; one son-in-law, Harold Creech of Wardell, Mo.; one half-brother, Perry Abbott of California; one grandchild, Sue Ann Barriner of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two great grandchildren, Larrie Barriner and Lyrra Barriner both of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Services were held November 8, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Rev. Dave Lewelling officiating. Burial was in the Maple Cemetery.
