Graveside services for Anna Mae (Strong) Anderson, 75, of Howards Ridge, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Mammoth Cemetery on T Highway.
Mrs. Anderson died April 24, 2011, in her home. She was born June 30, 1935, in the Lick Creek area, the daughter of Daniel Webster and Ella Strong. She married Hershel Anderson Oct. 24, 1952 in Yellville, Ark.
After living and working elsewhere, the couple settled in the Howards Ridge area in 1961 where she remained until her death. She was a homemaker and employee of Baxter Lab for 23 years. She loved nature and was an avid gardener and farmer. She made big beautiful gardens every summer and enjoyed canning for her family to enjoy throughout the year. She loved crafting, sewing everything from dresses to barbie doll clothes, and quilts. She and her husband enjoyed having cattle and up until the time of her death she raised and butchered her own chickens.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by two daughters, Debi McCutcheon and husband, Jim, of Olive Branch, Miss., and Sherry Patterson and husband, Jayme, of Ogden, Utah; one brother, Landon Strong and his wife, Margaret, of Hardenville; two grandchildren Ashley Recktenwald and her husband, Eric, of Gainesville and Cody Patterson of Ogden, Utah; two great-grandchildren, Eason Recktenwald and Ricia Recktenwald; two nieces, Kathy Green and her husband, Jim, of McLouth, Kan., and Diane Riley and her husband, Jeff, of Gainesville; two nephews, Lynn Strong and Lonnie Strong and his wife, Michelle, all of Gainesville; two great-nephews, Craig Lash and Kyle Lash and his wife, Crystal, all of McLouth, Kan.; two great-nieces, Ladonna Harvey of Manila, Ark., and Tiffany Slaughter and her husband, Scott, of McLouth, Kan.; one great-great-nephew, Hayden Slaughter of McLouth, Kan.; and three great-great-nieces, Ella Harvey, Hailey Harvey and Alyssa Harvey, all of Manila, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Anderson; her parents, Daniel Webster and Ella Strong; two sisters, Mary Graham and her husband, Jess, of McLouth, Kan., and Myrtle Jones and her husband, Bill, of Gainesville.
