ALFRED LANDON “HACKSAW” STRONG

Alfred Landon Strong passed away January 23, 2017 at home peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born December 22, 1937 to Daniel Webb and Ella (Frelich) Strong in Ozark County.

He married Margaret Rose Carroll August 11, 1961. They had four children, Lynn, Lonnie, Diane and Donna. He worked on Norfork Dam, also worked for the telephone company, and then retired after 25 years from Giles & Kendall in Gainesville, MO.

Landon is survived by his wife of the home Margaret; daughter Diane Riley and husband Jeff of Hardenville, MO; son Lonnie Strong of Gainesville, MO; his adopted daughter Donna Nasr who was great to him; one granddaughter LaDonna Harvey and husband William; four great granddaughters Ella, Haley, Alyssa and Mia; lots of nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law Mildred Streeter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters Mary, Myrtle and Anna; one son; and one daughter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Jeff Dotson and Davin Friend officiating. Burial will be in the Faye Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, January 24th from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to an account that has been set up at Century Bank of the Ozarks to help the family with medical and funeral expenses.
