Colleen Ruth Penfold was born on July 10, 1925, in Elkhart, Indiana, her father, Frank Merlin, was 20, and her mother, Mildred Ilene (Ritchey) Penfold, was 19. She married Kenneth Albert Myrick, Jr. the son of Kenneth Albert and Lilley Oliva (Vermillion) Ritchey, on August 24, 1948. They had three children during their marriage. She died on September 15, 1985, in Victorville, California, at the age of 60, and was buried at Riverside National Cemetery, in Riverside, California.
