She married her Husband, Joseph "Joe" Darl Newman on October 21, 1950. At the time of Joe's passing they were married for fifty-one wonderful years.
They were the Parents of two Children; Teresa Newman Cartwright, and Rick Newman.
They were the Grandparents to the three Grandchildren; Morgan, Conrad, and Tyler.
Jean, is still living as of the year 2010.

Jean is survived by her beloved children daughter Teresa (Tom) Cartwright of Nashville, TN and son Judge Executive Rick Newman of Greenville, 3 sisters Ava Nell Martin of Louisville, KY, Peggy Jane Wise of Louisville, KY and Nelda Pecheux of Houston, TX, 2 sisters-in-law Peggy Wilson of Greenville, KY and Brenda (Eddie) Wade of Greenville, KY.
She also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren Morgan Newman (Jason) Armstrong of Louisville, KY, Tyler Cartwright of Nashville, TN, and Conrad Newman of Louisville, KY, great granddaughters Sara Jo and Aubrey Kathryn Armstrong of Louisville, KY, along with many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and numerous friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joe D. Newman, sisters Melba Newman and Wilma Badgett, brothers Edwin and Lloyd Jenkins, and her parents, Lemuel and Alice Jenkins.
Jean was born on May 22, 1930 in Greenville, KY to Lemuel Carson Jenkins and Alice Ethel Grayson Jenkins. She graduated from Drakesboro High School in 1948. She married her best friend Joe D. Newman in 1950. Her children remember her as a devoted mother, wife and friend.
She was an active and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Greenville until she was no longer able to attend, and instead listened to the service on the radio every Sunday.
A graveside memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 3 at 11am at Carter Creek Cemetery Carter Creek Road Greenville, KY. All family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Jeans life.
