Ruth L. Haefner, 85, of Mendota died Dec. 24, 2008, in Mendota Lutheran Home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. The Rev. Tim Kaiser will officiate. Burial will be at Walnut Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

She was born March 14, 1923, in LaMoille to Otto and Bessie (Hicks) Schultz. She married Glen Hoffman on Nov. 27, 1945. He died in 1972. She married Roy Haefner on Sept. 23, 1979. He died in 1991.

She is survived by two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Marian (Howard) Schammel of LaMoille; one sister and caregiver, Crystal Alexander of Cherry; three brothers, Clarence Schultz of Mendota, Garney (Doris) Schultz of Cherry and Ralph (Lola) Schultz of Compton; nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Renee, in 1986; three brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church of Clarion.
