Donald O. Plym, 91, 2345 N. Seminary St. died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Seminary Manor.

He was born May 20, 1918 in Victoria, Illinois, the son of John A. and Anna M. Carlson Plym. He married Ellen M. Reade on February 2, 1943 in Norwich, England. She preceded him in death on February 15, 1989.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Fields and June C. (Jim) O'Brien; a brother, Wendell Plym; and three sisters, Berneice Mills, Mae Mohow and Maryann (Virgil) Judd.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Donald was a farmer until 1962 when he went to work for Galesburg School District 205 as a janitor and bus driver. He also was a security guard at St. Mary's Square.

He served in the 423 Squadron of the United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945.

Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be accorded.
