Julia M. Janson, 94

Julia M. Janson, a resident of the Harding area, died Jan. 16, 2006, at Pierz Villa.

Mass of Christian Burial was Jan. 21 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding with Fr. Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial was at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Julia was born on March 17, 1911, in Granite Township to John and Katherine Smude. She was an assistant cook at the Harding grade school for seven years. She also cooked for many weddings and loved working at her church dinners. She was a member of the Soldiers of The Cross Group. She was a member of the Holy Cross Church in Harding, a 50 year member of the Rosary Sodality and the American Legion Auxiliary in Pierz.

Julia is survived by her son Ronald (Denise) of Eagle River, AK; daughters Rose Marie (James) Preimesberger of Roseville and Mary Lou (Richard) Czech of Little Falls; brother Ed Smude of Pierz; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leo; two sons; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; parents; one brother; infant brothers, and two sisters.

Casketbearers were Ronald Janson, James Preimesberger, Randy Preimesberger, Rick Janson, Matt Janson, Rod Wink, Roger Donek and Leonard Theising.

Honorary pallbearers were Marie Dombovy, Louise Schubert, Catherine Young, Lillian Swaser, Margaret Hayes, Lois Woitalla, Deb Woitalla and Gloria Woitalla.
