Ollie Campbell

Ollie R. Campbell, 84, of Walker Rd. died today at 8:50 a.m. in the Extended Care Center where he had been a patient 10 days. A retired self - employed landscaper. Mr. Campbell was born Aug. 30, 1897, in Hookstown, Pa., a son of Jesse Campbell and Rose Allison Campbell. He attended the First Free Methodist Church. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 681, and was chairman of the board of commissioners of the Columbiana County Housing Authority. Mr. Campbell was active many years in the East Liverpool Area Senior Citizens, and was instrumental in organizing the Goldenaires of which he was charter president. He also was active in the Tri - County Senior Citizens, having taken part in their displays during the Columbiana County and Canfield fairs. Besides his wife, Mrs. Mary K McIntosh Campbell, whom he married Aug. 30, 1924, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Herron of East Liverpool and Mrs. Donald (Lenore) Barnes of Glenmoor, a son, Paul E. Campbell of Wellsville, two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Jones and Mrs. Margaret Hawkins, both of East Liverpool; 10 grandchildren and 18 great - grandchildren. Friends may call Friday afternoon and night at the Dawson Funeral Home, where other arrangements are pending.

Services are to be held Saturday for Ollie Campbell, 84, of Walker Rd., who died Thursday morning in the Extended Care Center. The rites are to be conducted at the Dawson Funeral Home by Pastor Fred Schreffler of the First Free Methodist Church. Burial is to be in Yellow Creek United Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Friends may call this afternoon and tonight at the funeral home, where the East Liverpool Area Senior Citizens and the Goldenaires are to conduct a service at 6 p.m., and the Masonic Lodge 681 is to hold a service at 7:30 p.m.
