Bernard Campbell Succumbs To Burns
Explosion In Home Proves Fatal; Funeral Monday
Bernard Campbell, 31, of 625 Dresden avenue, died in City hospital at 1:15 a.m. today of burns sustained last Sunday night when a leaking gas pipe ignited at his home. Mr. Campbell was reported as not improving early Friday and in the afternoon his condition became serious. He was born in East Liverpool, and was an employe of the Treadwell Construction Co. of Midland. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Campbell; a step - son, Donald Congrove; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Campbell, and three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Reynolds, Mrs. Ethel Jones and Mrs. Margaret Hawkins, all of East Liverpool, and a brother, Ollie R. Campbell of Madison township. Funeral services will be held in the Martin Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday in charge of Rev. L.
Chester Lewis, assisted by Rev. Norman Brookes, former pastor of Boyce M. E. church. Interment will be in Millcreek cemetery. Friends are asked to call at the home of Mr. Bernard's mother, Mrs. Sarah R. Campbell, 1927 Ohio avenue, Sunday afternoon and night.
