Paul A. Nelson, 75, of Greeley and formerly of Peetz, died May 21, 2004, at Fairacres Manor in Greeley. Funeral services were today at Adamson Memorial West Chapel in Greeley. Burial followed at Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley.
Mr. Nelson was born March 25, 1929 on the family farm west of Peetz to John. and Clara (Copely) Nelson.
He attended Peetz schools and graduated from Peetz High School in 1947.
On July 17, 1967, he married Dallas Ortgiesen at his mother's home in Sterling.
He worked at the Yenter and Padroni gas plants, and then worked for Monfort of Colorado in Greeley for nearly 20 years as a stationary engineer. He later worked at the deaf and blind school in Colorado Springs for almost 14 years. He retired in 1992.
He is survived by wife Dallas Nelson; daughter Vida Clark, both of Greeley; sons Art Nelson, Loveland, Charles Nelson, Boulder City Nev., and Rollin Nelson, Cheyenne, Wyo.; step daughter Beverly Adamson, Tampico, Ill.; step-son Rex Ortgiesen, Greeley; sisters Betty Lockhart, Sterling, and Connie Hawes, Fort Morgan; brothers John Nelson, Sterling, Lloyd Nelson, Levelland, Texas, Jim Nelson, Greeley, Arlo Nelson, Albuquerque, N.M.,. and Larry Nelson, Peetz; four grandchilren; four step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers Lyman and Stanley Nelson.
