Mrs. Dora E. Smith, 68, wife of Frank H. Smith, died at 11:30 o'clock Sunday morning at her home, 425 North Eighth street. She had been ill several weeks after suffering a paralytic stroke. Mrs. Smith had lived in Arkansas City for 49 years. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Lashbrook.
She was a native of Garden City, Minn. She and Mr. Smith were married at Lowell, Kas., July 7, 1889. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Central Christian church. Mr. Smith, who has been in the grocery business at his home for 15 years, was formerly the owner of a tin shop here.
Surviving relatives are the husband; four children: Roy Smith, Hayward, Cal.; Clarence Smith, Anthony, Kas.; Mrs. Ethel Mansfield, Arkansas City and Mrs. Edna Langford, San Diego, Cal.; three brothers, Chester Lashbrook and Oscar Lashbrook, Arkansas City and Myron Lashbrook, Almena, Kas., and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the First Baptist church, due to the fact that repairs are being made on the interior of the Central Christian church. The Rev. C. D. Walker will officiate. Interment will be in the Riverview cemetery. Oldroyd is in charge."
