Funeral for retired Fire Capt. William A. Forbes, 5027 N.E. 10th Avenue, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday from the Colonial Mortuary. Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery. Rev. John Richardson will officiate. Capt. Forbes died Monday at his residene. Capt. Forbes was born in Bridgeville, Cal. and was educated in Eureka, Cal. He lived in Portland over 40 years and was with the fire bureau over 20 years.

He was a veteran of World War I, serving with the 363rd Ambulance Company, 91st Division, and was a member of American Legion post No. 52.

Survivors include the widow, Naomi; son William R., Portland; sisters, Mrs. Olive Jessen, Eureka, Miss Jane Forbes, Santa Clara, Cal., Mrs. Edna Bresee, San Francisco, Mrs. Margaret Carr, Santa Clara, Mrs. Hazel Forbes Costelloe, Winsor, N.C., and Mrs. Lou Knowland, Fresno, Cal.
