LLOYD GREENFIELD, 90, of Fort Wayne, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Parkview Hospital. Born July 20, 1918, he was the son of Blanche (Remington) and Dayton, and grew up in Greenville, Pa. He was a graduate of Penn. High School class of 1936, and Thiel College, and he served in the U.S.C.G. during World War II. He was a long time member of Fort Wayne Baptist. He was the former manager of the G.C. Murphy Co., in Southtown Mall, Fort Wayne and also managed stores in Kokomo and Peru during a career spanning 42 years. He was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce and was also past president of the Retail Association of Peru, the Greater Kokomo Retail Merchants, and the Southtown Mall Merchants Association. He worked for Century 21 Bradley, Fort Wayne for 12 years after retiring from the G.C. Murphy Co. He was a past president and 50 year member of the Lion's club, a 50 year member of the Masons and 25 year member of the Scottish Rite. He is survived by two sons, John of Lebanon, Ill. and Gary of Charlotte, N.C.; and one granddaughter, Jessica. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, the former Betty Slater; and three brothers, Ray, Wesley and Harold. A funeral celebrating his life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with Dr. William A. Deans officiating. Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial in Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville, Pa.
