Obituary - Frederick S. Baldwin, who was Village President of Hempstead from 1922 to 1927 and served as a town and deputy county assessor for about 20 years, died of a heart attack yesterday afternoon at his home, 29 Maryland avenue, Hempstead. He was 67. Headed Village Officials. Mr. Baldwin served as one of the first presidents of the Nassau County Village Officials Association. Active in fraternal societies, he had membership in many organizations and for years was a leader in the Hempstead fire department, of which he was a former chief and former secretary. With his brother, Alfred Baldwin of Hempstead, he was in the real estate and insurance business at 12 North Franklin Street, Hempstead. Upon returning from work yesterday afternoon, Mr. Baldwin was stricken with a heart attack. The rescue squad of the Hempstead Police hastened to the home immediately after his daughter, Miss Edna Baldwin, reported his collapse, and Dr. Benjamin Budoff was summoned by police. Dr. Budoff pronounced the former village official dead from coronary occlusion. Besides his daughter, Mr. Baldwin is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Baldwin; a son, Frederick S., Jr.; a brother, Alfred; a sister, Mrs. Edna Flansburgh, and a granddaughter, Melissa Baldwin.
