WILLIAM DENNIS SELLERS

William Dennis Sellers, son of James and Philena Sellers, was born May 9, 1870, on a farm near Melrose, Iowa., and passed away at his home in Chariton, April 28, 1948, at the age of 77 years, 11 months and nine days. His entire life was lived in Monroe and Lucas counties.

On March 3, 1896, he was united in marriage to Alma May Hull and to this union nine children were born. In his earlier years he accepted Christ as his saviour and placed his membership in the Presbyterian church. He was a loving husband and father, a friend to all and was ever ready to help in time of need.

Mr. Sellers is survived by the wife, five sons, Everett, of Goodell; Dewey, of Chariton; Charles, of St. Paul, Minn.; Albert, of Des Moines, and Willis, of Centerville; three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Foster and Mrs. Edna Lane, of Yakima, Wash., and Mrs. Viola Darrah, of Newton; 28 grandchildren, six great grand children, several neices and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Final rites in charge of the Rev. A. E. Beals were held Sunday, May 2, 1948, at 2 p.m. at the Beardsley funeral home. Interment was made at Russell cemetery.
