George Walker Burial Slated Blooming Grove
BLOOMING GROVE, Jan. 6 (Spl.)—George W. Walker, 78, retired carpenter, died at his home in Waxahachie Monday night.
Funeral services will be held from the First Christian church here Wednesday at 2 p.m. with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. The rites will be conducted by Rev. Harry W. Elwood, pastor.
A native of Mississippi, Walker resided in Blooming Grove for 43 years prior to 1956 when he moved to Odessa from which place he moved to Waxahachie six months ago.
Surviving are his wife of Waxahachie; eight sons, Elbert, Clyde and G. W. Walker, Jr., all Of Miami, Ariz.; Ray, Dwayne, Robert and Charles Walker, all Odessa, and Jimmy Walker, Waxahachie; nine daughters, Mrs. Edna Smith, Mrs. Kate Hefley and Mrs. Ivy G. Ihlow, all of Fort Worth; Mrs. Maudie Collier, Globe, Ariz.; Mrs. Frances Duke, Mrs. Doris Duke and Miss Sue Walker, all of Waxahachie; Mrs. Helen Farmer and Mrs. Sarah Davis, both of Odessa; a brother, Ernest Walker, New Albany, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Moody, Corsicana; Mrs. Betty Wooten, Houston, and Mrs. Annie Williams, New Albany, Miss.; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Sons will be pallbearers.
McCormick Funeral Service will direct.
