Phenarah was born on Sunday, 10 January 1915 and was the last child and daughter born to Hugh Johnson and Mary Caroline "Callie" (Childers) Spencer. Except for Phenarah, all of Huey's and Callie's children were born at Malaga, rural Stillwater, Wolfe County, Kentucky. In November 1914, Hugh and Callie moved from Stillwater, to Oakdale, Breathitt Co., KY, where they bought the Taulbee farm between Oakdale and War Creek, on present day Highway 541 about one-half mile north of the intersection of highway 541 and highway 52. Shortly thereafter, Phenarah was born. On 25 Sep 1931 Phenarah married Mitchell Samuel Little of Oakdale. Mitchell died 3 Mar 2008 at the age of 97, and is also buried in Jackson Cemetery. They were married for 58 years. Following a lengthy illness, Phenarah passed away on Saturday, April 15, 1989. She was loved by all and is greatly missed. God bless you, Phenarah, and rest in peace.
