Herman Erbach, 76, a resident of New Holstein almost three quarters of a century, died suddenly Friday afternoon at his farm home in the northern outskirts of the city of New Holstein.
Born there on Nov 22, 1871, the son of Carl and Doris Schoen Erbach, the deceased attended the district schools and on Nov 19, 1904 was married to Miss Mary Wichmann. The couple settled in New Holstein immediately after their marriage where they operated a creamery, and then moved to Gilberts, Ill., where they resided for two years. They returned to New Holstein in 1907 and have made their home there since. Mr. Erbach served a two year term as town assessor in the early 1930's.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Gilbert and Melvin, New Holstein; three grandchildren; one brother, Fred, Montana, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Borman, New Holstein.
Funeral services will be at Erbe- Hoffman Funeral home. The Rev J R. Siedler, pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate, and burial will be made in the New Holstein City Cemetery
