DAILY REVIEW 12/30/1906

MRS. ISABELLA ACKER DIED SUDDENLY IN ST. MARYS HOSPITAL SUNDAY MORNING FROM A STROKE OF APOPLEXY. SHE HAD BEEN IN POOR HEALTH FOR SOME TIME, BUT HER DEATH WAS WHOLLY UNEXPECTED. CORONER BUXTON WAS SUMMONED AND HELD AN INQUEST AND THE VERDICT WAS THAT DEATH WAS DUE TO APOPLEXY. MRS. ACKER HAD BEEN MAKING HER HOME AT THE HOSPITAL FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS. HER AGE WAS ABOUT 60 YEARS. THE BODY WAS TAKEN TO MORANS CHAPEL.
SHE IS SURVIVIED BY FOUR CHILDREN, HARRY ACKER, A PRIVATE IN THE REGULAR ARMY, JOHN ACKER, OF CHICAGO, WINIFRED ACKER, WHO IS A SISTER IN ST JOHNS HOSPITAL IN SPRINGFIELD AND MRS. JOHN ROBINSON OF ATLANTA. THE LATTER ARRIVED IN DECATUR SUNDAY TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE FUNERAL.
MRS. ACKER WAS THE WIDOW OF HENRY ACKER, WHO WAS A MEMBER OF THE DECATUR POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS.
THE FUNERAL WILL BE HELD AT 3 OCLOCK TUESDAY AFTERNOON FROM ST. JAMES GERMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH. FATHER A. TEPPE WILL CONDUCT THE SERVICES. THE INTERMENT WILL BE IN CALVARY.
