Annie Mary Glasscock was born December 13, 1879 in Pilot Point, Denton County, Texas. She was one of the twelve children of John Preston and Margaret Ellen "Wright" Glasscock. John and Margaret had moved their family from Kentucky to Texas in 1875. The family moved to Oldham County in 1892 because of the great land opportunity. They moved in a covered wagon with the older children walking most of the way. The trip took three weeks. The family found themselves living in a very crowded half dugout house, consisting of one large room. Annie was thirteen years old at the time. On December 24, 1902 Annie Glasscock and Charlie Gault were married in the John Preston and Margaret Glasscock home. They made their home a little southwest of what is now the Oldham County "Memorial Park Cemetery". A few years later they moved just north of the Canadian River where Charlie continued his ranching activities. After three years they moved to Cordell, Oklahoma where he raised alfalfa with his father in law. In 1910 they moved back to Vega and bought a house at 11th and Davis Streets. Charlie started ranch activities again and continued the remainder of his life. Charlie and Annie were the parents of six children: Frankie, Margaret, Ruth, Charlie W. (Bud) and two sons that died at birth. Charlie died in 1925. Annie remained in Vega and finished raising the family. She was a charter member of the Vega Methodist Church and of Chapter #528 Order of the Eastern Star. For many years she was a member of a Home Demonstration Club ("The Canning Club"). Annie's grandchildren called her "Doda". Annie made fine embroider work, which she gave to her family and friends as gifts. In 1960 she fell and broke her hip leaving her in a wheel chair the remainder of her life. In September of 1973 she passed away.

As a great-great-granddaughter of Peter Glasscoke (1714-1784) Annie "Glasscock" Gault's descendants are entitled to membership in the Sons or Daughters of the American Revolution (SAR/DAR) and other patriotic organizations.
