Johnnie Holub, age 75 of Waco, died July 14, 1997 at his residence. Services were at 10 a.m. July 16 at St. Louis Catholic church with the Rev. Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. July 15 at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home in Waco. Burial was at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours.

Mr. Holub was born on June 19, 1922 in Hill Co., near Penelope where he was reared and educated. He had been a resident of Waco since 1946. He married Arline Filer on January 28, 1945 in Tours.

He was a veteran of WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was employed at General Tire for 34 years. He retired in 1984. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, American Legion Post 121, Knights of Columbus and KJT 117. He was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Holub.

Survivors include his wife, Arline Filer Holub of Waco; two daughters, Beverly Dobiyanski and husband Jerry of Aurora, Illinois, and Eileen Kubala and husband Charles of Waco; two sons, Larry Holub and wife Gayle of Waco and Dennis Holub of Lorena; three sisters, Edith Nors of West, Martha Hosek and husband Eugene of West and Frances Soukup and husband Steve of West; three brothers, William Holub and wife Edith of Dallas, Henry Holub and wife Carolyn of Ovilla and Frank Holub and wife Shirley of Penelope; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers were John Scott Holub, Steven Holub, Jerry Dobiyanski, Charles Kubala, Eugene Hosek, Steve Soukup and John Wesley Redden, Jr.

Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice or American Cancer Society.

Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
