A prominent Buffalo, N. D. businessman, Matthias Markus Diemert, 65, died Saturday in Fargo. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas Catholic Church at Buffalo.
Mr. Diemert was born at Eckelson, N. D. in 1901. He had been a garage owner and implement dealer in Buffalo. He was a former mayor and had served on the town board for 20 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks and the Eagles, and had worked with Boy Scout.
Surviving are his wife, Elise’ two sons, Raymond, Buffalo, and Paul, Glendora, Calif.; two daughters, Helen, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Andrew O. (Lila An) McDermott, Pacifica, Calif.; 13 grandchildren.
Three brothers; Lewie, Shelton, Wash.; Harold, Bremerton, Calif.; and Bernard, Napa, Calif.; and seven sisters; Sister Catherine Diemert, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Ludvina Popelka, Buffalo; Mrs. Frances Ronning, Sanborn; Sister Agnes Diemert, Maryvale; Mrs. Magdalene Walker, Valley City, Mrs. Margaret Farrell, Lodi, Calif.;’ and Mrs. Mae Freitas, Napa.
