Olive Evelyn (Ollie) Tibbs, 91, of Marshall, died at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 1985 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church Marshall with the Rev. David Eadie officiating. Burial will be in Marshall Cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today, Thursday, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

She was born March 17, 1894 in Clark County to Charles Ellsworth and Sara Louisa Medsker Thompson. She was married to Herbert Tibbs. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marshall and the Friendly Class of the church; the Marshall Day Unit of the Home Extension, and the Forever Young Chorus. She was the 1978 recipient of the Epsilon Signma Alpha Diana Award.

Surviving are a brother, Vance Thompson of Greenup; four sisters, Golda Sockler of Mooresville, Ind.; Lucille Kessler and Louise Stumph, both of Tucson, Az. and ElDean Herndon of Indianapolis, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
