Mahala Louise Stumph Born March 19, 1910, Louise left us to be with her Heavenly Father on January 5, 2007, at the age of 96. She was a long time resident of Speedway, Indiana, before moving to Ventura, California following her husband's death. After a few years in California, she moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she lived for the most recent 30 years. With a deep desire to stay active and caring for others, she became an LPN and worked as a lovingcaring nurse in both California and Arizona. Louise said her final farewells to family members at the Davis House Assisted Living Center in Bullhead City, Arizona. Son, Charles, and his wife, Roz, have provided very close and loving care for her over the past several months. Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise (LuLu) Thompson; husband, Vernon; sisters, Glenn Thompson, Ollie Tibbs, Goldie Sockler, Lucille Kessler and El Dean Herndon; and brother, Vance Thompson. She is survived by sons, Richard of Albuquerque, NM, James of Frisco, TX and Charles of Bullhead City, AZ; and daughter, Charlotte Bennett of Moravian Falls, NC. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was the last living member of her generation of the Stumph and Thompson families. Louise was an active member of Christ Church Cathedral in Indianapolis before moving west. Interment will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis on a date yet to be determined.
