Mrs. Ernest Ward Dies Wednesday;
Funeral Friday at 3

Mrs. Ernest Ward, aged 57 years, one of this city's pioneer and beloved citizens, passed away Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, after an extended illness.

She was born in Collin county, Texas, on January 21, 1891. At the age of 12 years, she moved with her family to Durant, and has resided here since that time. She passed away at the family home, one mile south of Durant. She has lived here the past 45 years.

She has been a member of the Calvary Baptist church for many years, and was a devoted Christian woman, always living the Christian life, helping others, a kind and loving wife and mother, and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Mrs. Ward is survived by her husband, Ernest Ward, her father, C. B. Lambert, of this city, four sons, Vernon of Carlsbad, N. M., Marshall, of Compton, California; Cleo of Camp Hood, Texas, in the U. S. army; Leonard of Durant; three daughters, Mrs. Elrena Wells, of Durant; Mrs. Pauline Ward, of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Billie Jean Harrison of Oakland, Calif.; two brothers, five sisters and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services under the direction of Holmes Funeral home, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, at the Calvary Baptist church, with Rev. J. W. Wade officiating. Burial will be at Highland cemetery.
