Pauline E. Kidd, a cherished family member, and respected resident of Durant, Oklahoma left this life, and began a new one in Heaven on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at the age of 100 years 3 months and 18 days. She was born in Durant, Oklahoma to Ernest E. and Dovie Elmore (Lambert) Ward on March 9, 1917.
Pauline Ward married James O. Kidd on May 27, 1948, they were married for almost 45 years, he preceded her in death in 1992.
Pauline celebrated her 100th birthday on March 9, 2017. She left a legacy of love and devotion to her family. Pauline was a lifelong resident of Bryan county, and member of the 7th and Beech Church of Christ. When Pauline was a young woman she proudly supported the WW II war effort by building airplanes at Tinker Air Force base in Oklahoma City. Later in life Pauline was a member of the Business and Professional Women Association. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother. Those who loved her will miss her presence, but are at peace knowing she is with her Lord and Savior.
Mrs. Kidd is survived by her beloved daughters, Paula Mashburn and husband Randy of Atoka, Oklahoma, and Jamie Mays and husband Gary of Flower Mound, Texas; cherished grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Melanie Salinas and husband Manuel of Irving, Texas, JoLee Brooks and husband Derek of McAlester, Oklahoma, Brandon Mays and wife Traci of Flower Mound, Texas, Erin Richardson and husband Kyle of Durant, Oklahoma, Natalie Burrage of Denison, Texas and Patricia Welch and husband Jim of Flower Mound, Texas, (greats) Jaxon and Noah Salinas, Nolan Burrage, Ace Richardson, James Mays, Stren Brooks, Rylee Richardson, Joey Burrage, and Masy Jo Mays; sister, Billie Jean Shreve of Garland, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kidd was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Dovie Ward; husband, James Kidd; infant daughter, Pamela Sue Kidd; brothers, Vernon Ward, Leonard Ward, Cleo Ward, and Marshall Ray Ward; sister, Elrena Wells.
The church service will begin at 2:00 PM with John Curtis, Layne Heitz and Skip Robinson officiating. Pauline will be laid to rest at the Highland Cemetery in Durant.
