William Kiehn buried at Cashmere

William J. Kiehn, 72, resident of this area for the past 61 years, passed away Monday morning at the Central Washington Hospital. He was born November 1, 1908, at Ritzville, moved to Dryden in 1920. He attended school there and married Joan Batt, January 29, 1940 at Ritzville.

Mr. Kiehn was an orchardist in Dryden until 1970 when they moved to Cashmere and he continued in ranch work until this spring when he retired because of ill health.

He was a member of the Cashmere Grace Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Joan, at home, his son Robert of Chico, California, two grandchildren, his sister, Esther Coates, Cashmere, and his brother, Art, Dryden, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 pm with Pastor Robert Hoem officiating. Burial will take place in the Cashmere Cemetery with pall bearers Earl Kiehn, Herb Kiehn, Bill Kiehn, Melvin Kiehn, Roland Schafer and Dennis Coates.

The Braun Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
