Robert Wilson Moore was the fifth of eleven children born to American Revolution Patriot, Andrew Moore and his wife (m. Autumn, 1792), Elizabeth (Shepherd) Moore (b.1775, d.1858). He was an early settler in Putnam County, Illinois. Robert married Francis "Fanny" Black Leeper Moore, on March 28, 1831. Their children and grandchildren are as follows:
