Robert Van Vickle, 82, a pioneer of this county died at nine o’clock Tuesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs Ann Roth, 615 LeSeure Street. Mr Van Vickle was born in Blount Township, Aug 6, 1838. On Oct 6, 1859, he was united in marriage with Julia Ann White, who survives. There are nine sons and daughters as follows: Calvin Van Vickle and Rachel Roach, residing in Minnesota; James Ruben and Charles Van Vickle, who have their homes in Iowa; Sarah McCracken of St Louis; Mrs Mae Huffman and Ann Roth, both of this city. The funeral will be held from the Roth residence at two o’clock Thursday afternoon. The internment will be in Johnson Cemetery northwest of the city.
