DRYDEN - Gertrude Louise Kiehn, 84, our beloved mother of Dryden, was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 9, 1996.

She was born Gertrude Louise Buddrius on April 2, 1911, in Odessa to Robert and Anna (Eckhardt) Buddrius. She grew up and received her early education there, and on Jan. 31, 1931, she married Arthur F. Kiehn in Ritzville. In 1932, they moved to the Cashmere area, where they owned and operated a fruit orchard. They spent 64 years together.

Mrs. Kiehn was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Cashmere, and throughout her life she was involved in many church activities, including choir, Bible school, quilt-making and the Mary Martha Circle. She also was a member of the Dryden Improvement Club and the Arts and Crafts Club.

Mom's greatest pleasures were her family and her faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook and loved to sew. Mother was a tireless woman who gave abundantly of herself to her family and friends. Her most cherished legacy was her Christian faith.

Gertie is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, LeAnna and Bob Pflugrath of Peshastin and Lonna and Tom Groce of Bonney Lake; two brothers, Richard Buddrius of Leavenworth and Sam Buddrius of Lady Lake, Fla.; one half brother, Victor Buddrius of Blanchard, Idaho; six grandchildren and their families, Mike and Monique Pflugrath of Peshastin, James and Amy (Pflugrath) Carter of Spokane, Troy Pflugrath of Peshastin and Todd, Brian and Andy Groce of Bonney Lake; and one great-granddaughter, Layne Carter of Spokane. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 4, 1996, her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one half sister.

Arrangements are by Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth.
