Alvin was survived by his wife of 38 years, Georgie Bernice; four sons, Earl Eugene, Gerald David, Ronald Alvin, and James Edward; two daughters, Donna Faye and Sharron Ann; two brothers, Albert and Odell; and four sisters, Ethel, Elsie, Leona, and Wilma.
His burial took place at Kilbeck Cemetery in Black Creek, Tennessee.
