Thank you for creating this memorial. J. S. Alford, was a Confederate Veteran.
He served in the 26th Louisiana Infantry, C.S.A. He was paroled June 10, 1865,
following General Lee's surrender at Appomattox Courthouse, VA. According to
the War Dept, O.Q.M.G. Form No. 623, Application for Headstone, he died 15
February 1908. I uploaded the image for his Application for Headstone. I hope
you will be able to use this information to add his date of death and update his
