In Memoriam
May 13, 2008

George W. Forrester, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire, WI.
Funeral Services for George were on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home, Eau Claire, WI. Pastors Dennis Pond and David Clements officiated. Burial was in the Downing Cemetery in the Township of Wheatland near Deckerville, Michigan at 10 am on Tuesday May 27, 2008.
George was born September 18, 1919 in Deckerville, Michigan, the oldest child of Merle and Florence (Wyllie) Forrester. Growing up in Deckerville, George often helped out in the family department store. He attended University of Michigan School of Dentistry, graduating in 1944.
On June 23, 1943, George married Edwina Mae Mater in McGregor, Michigan. They would have celebrated their 64th anniversary this year.
George practiced dentistry for 12 years in Michigan before moving to Illinois to attend Moody Bible Institute. He graduated from Moody in 1959. He then began a dental practice in Wheaton, Illinois which continued for 23 more years. It was his joy and privilege to have many missionaries as patients and to be able to serve them when they were home on furlough.
George and Edwina moved to Wisconsin in 1987, first to Westboro, then to Owen, and finally to Eau Claire, to be near family.
Wherever George and Edwina lived, they were involved in their church and other Christian ministries. George was a Sunday school teacher and church elder. He volunteered his services as a dentist at Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago, and taught a course in missionary dentistry at Moody Bible Institute. George served faithfully on the boards of several Christian organizations, including Youth Gospel Crusade/Camp Forest Springs in Westboro, Wisconsin, and Wheaton Christian Grammar School in Wheaton, Illinois.
George is survived by his wife, Edwina of Eau Claire; his daughter, Janet (Dan) Davidson of Eau Claire; two grandchildren, Jeremy Davidson and Jennifer (David) Schneider both of Eau Claire; two sisters, Jo Alice Pontine of Port Huron, Michigan, and Eleanor Boice of Deckerville, Michigan; and one brother, Don (Vi) Forrester of Deckerville, Michigan; and eight nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Homer Forrester; two brothers-in-law, Moe Pontine and Mack Boice; and three nephews.

Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
