Josephine Alice Pontine. 89, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015. She was born June 26, 1926 in Deckerville to the late Meryl and Florence Forrester. She married Maurice Pontine in April 1950 in Deckerville. He died August 4, 1996.

Josephine was a godly woman who loved the Lord with all her heart. She read her Bible daily and loved to share her faith. Over the years, she attended Marysville Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, Marysville Assembly of God, Blue Water Christian Church and Westhaven Baptist. She babysat for many years and was devoted to her family.

She is survived by two children, Suzanne Pontine and Brent (Faith) Pontine; three grandchildren, Christopher (Theresa) Pontine, Alyssa (Jimi) Plouffe and Nicholas Pontine; two great grandchildren, Landon and Myla Jo Pontine; a sister, Eleanor Boice; a brother, Donald (Violet) Forrester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, George (Edwina) Forrester and Homer Forrester; and a brother-in-law, Mack Boice.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Stapleford will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
