Jose Voltamad Delgado, 71, passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on December 1, 1964. He was born on November 2, 1892, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, the son of Emilia (Moore) and Sostenes Maximilliano Delgado. Jose was 15 years old when in 1908, his mother, Emilia, passed away. His father, Sostenes, remarried in 1919; Jose was less than a month older than his step-mother.

Jose is preceded in death by his son, Joseph Vincent Delgado in 1944; his parents, Emilia (Moore) in 1908 and Sostenes Maximilliano Delgado Sr in 1937; his sister, Guadalupita A Delgado in 1909; and his brother, Sostenes Maximilliano Delgado Jr in 1960.

He is survived by his wife, Irene E (Abercrombie); two daughters, Emily "Frances" Garcia, and Irene Gonzales, both of Santa Fe; one son, Don Delgado and his wife Connie of San Antonio, TX; his step-mother, Melecia (Duran) Delgado of Las Vegas, NM; two sisters, Amelia Griego, and Agneda Martinez; two half-sisters, Guadalupe "Pita" Montoya of Las Vegas, NM, and Mary Grace Salaz of Santa Fe, NM; and two half-brothers, Philip and Albert Delgado, both of Santa Fe; 12 grandchildren; and many other relatives.

On 5 June 1917, Jose Voltamad Delgado (B: 2 Nov 1892, Las Vegas, New Mexico), a resident of Anton Chico, registered for the World War I Draft. He was described as: single, tall, slender build, brown eyes, brown hair, and a merchant (WWI Draft Card). Jose served with Company I. 62nd Infantry Regiment, 8 Infantry Division

On 30 October 1918, the 8th Division began transporting overseas to Europe. The 62nd Infantry Regiment was at sea when recalled after the Armistice.
