At the time of his death he left his wife, Helen M. (Walsh) Gallagher; one cousin Eleanor C. Gallagher, who resided with him; two sisters, Marion E. Gallagher and Sister Mary Loreto, S.M., both of Worcester; a nephew, Rev. Paul Tougas, of Worcester and several other nephews.
He was born in Worcester, son of James A. and Elizabeth (Leonard) Gallagher.
He was past president of the St. Christopher's Guild in Worcester, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Bishop O'Reilly Council 88, Worcester; a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union, Worcester.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer with the Sea Bees.
The funeral was held from the Hallett Funeral Home, 283 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, with a Mass in St. Pius X Church, South Yarmouth. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Dennis.
