Murl was born at the family farm where Camp Chaffee, Ark. now stands. The family moved into the town of Greenwood, Ark. when the farm was bought to make the camp. Murl had a twin brother Earl Bonner. Murl enlisted in the U.S. Navy Sept. 1, 1943 and was honorably discharged on June 1, 1945. Murl married Gladys Crawford and one daughter was born to this marriage. Murl later married Huldena Moske/Ackerman in Orange Co. Ca. One son was born to this marriage. Murl loved to enertain with his singing. "Silver haired Daddy of mine" was one of his favorites. Another love of his was his fishing, especially in later years.
