"Mandy" was the daughter of Adam Butcher and Mary Ann Kelly.

Mandy's great-grandparents on her mother's side were Alexander Kelly, Sr. and Nancy Robinson. He served as a private during the Revolutionary War in Captain Thomas Parramore's company of the 9th Virginia Regiment. [Lineage Book of the Charter Members of the DAR Vol. 152, #151691.]

Mandy left home in the late 1860's. She lived in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana and worked in a woolen mill.

Mandy was the mother of 1 child. Her son, Newton, was born in 1873.

Mandy married a widower named George H. Jeffries, Sr. on 17 Oct 1877 in Monroe County. He was born about 1812 in Virginia and was the father of 7 children from his first marriage.

Mandy was a homemaker, and George was a wagonmaker.

By 1910, Mandy and George lived with Newton and his wife, Minnie. Newton always used the surname Jeffries. He worked as a prison guard.

George died on 28 Apr 1911 at the age of 99.

On 09 Aug 1926, Amanda suffered a fall and broke her right femur near the hip. She developed pneumonia and died 3 weeks later. At the time of her death, she was 78 years, 11 months and 7 days old.

In addition to her husband, Amanda was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Amanda was buried on 01 Sep 1926.
